My Top 3 Favorite Ways to Celebrate Spring

Updated: Apr 23, 2020

The weather is finally sunny here in Utah, and if you've been following me on Instagram, then you know flowers are blooming all over the place!

(My apologies to those of you who follow me for reasons that don't include flowers... Because boy have I been posting a lot of flowers!)

On this beautiful Earth Day, I'd like to take a minute to share with you some of my favorite ways to celebrate Spring.

1.) Go on a Nature Hunt

I try to do this every single day. Put on some comfy shoes, grab your favorite person (it's okay if your favorite person is yourself,) and head outside with your phone or camera. Walk around your neighborhood and search for cool nature things. When you find one, snap it's picture! Spring is by far the best season to do this, because the Earth is changing so much every day. There are always new things to find- you will be surprised how much your neighborhood changes day to day. By the time Summer rolls around, you'll have lots of pretty photos to look back on and remember the season.

2.) Stock up on Picnic Supplies

Through-out the season, try to keep picnic friendly foods in your fridge/pantry. Fruit, sandwich stuff, crackers, bottled drinks, etc. You never know when the weather will be perfect for a picnic, and when it is, you want to be able to take advantage of it! It doesn't need to be fancy- just grab a blanket and head out to your backyard! This picnic box, also known as the best thing I've seen today, is from Kate at Dometicated Life!

3.) Incorporate Spring Scents into your Beauty Routine

Everyone loves to buy up peppermint or Christmas tree scented bubble bath during the holidays, so why don't we do the same for Spring? My personal favorite floral scent is rose, but other good options are lavender, honeysuckle, or jasmine. My current favorite bath products are the rose bath salts from Doctor Teals (I linked the lavender because rose is unavailable) and this Pansy lotion from LUSH. While not technically a beauty product, I also love this Rose and Vanilla candle from Bath and Bodyworks. I usually light it while I'm taking a bath. If you want to go the DIY route, this bath salts tutorial from Blondielocks sound heavenly!

I hope these spring routines help spark some magic into your life! Let me know if you try anything, and if you take pictures, tag me! Especially flower photos. I love flowers.

Stay magical,

Nikki

PS - This bit didn't fit well into the rest of the blog post, but I thought some of you might find it interesting! In Pagan tradition, the Spring equinox has two seasons: Ostara and Beltane. We are currently in Ostara, which is a celebration of new beginnings, awakening, and growth. Many of our Easter traditions originated with Ostara celebrations. Beltane begins on May 5th, and celebrates fertility, love, and new life. It is a good time (not that there is ever a bad time,) to remind your friends and family how much you appreciate them. In general, Spring is good time to set new intentions for yourself- what do you want to do this season? Who do you want to be? Take this energy full of growth and renewal and run with it!
