Describe your happy place

Updated: Apr 17, 2020

If you've been following me for more than a few months, you already know what my happy place is.

Walt Disney World!

Yeah, that's right. I'm one of those people.

Let me tell you why:

Disney is my kind of fun. The rides are fun, the food is fun, the merch is fun, and the people are fun! I'm the type of extrovert that likes to be around people, but not necessarily always be interacting with people. Disney days are the best days because you get to be around happy people doing fun things all day, but you get to participate in it in kind of an introverted way. As park goers, you are all collectively sharing an experience, but your interactions with each other are fairly limited. A solo park day is one of the best ways to get to know yourself and discover what really inspires you. Going with a friend or family member is fun too, though, because there is so much time to chat and bond in an easy and relaxed environment! And you can take cute pictures like this:

My perfect day at Disney is a lot of walking, exploring, observing, hugging a character or two, and many snack stops. I've had Disney days where I've only ridden 1 ride. I've spent literal hours at Tom Sawyer's Island. One particularly hot Disney day, I was feeling kind of tired but didn't want to head home yet, so I drove to one of the water parks and took a nap on a lounge chair. To me, Disney is all the best parts of life!

Some people take a gap year from college and travel the world. I took a gap year from life and went to Disney World, like, a lot. I'm so grateful I got to do that! Even now, when times are particularly strange and tough, I find a lot of comfort in the lessons I learned in the parks.

1. Prioritize the fun

2. Dress in a way that makes you feel good

3. Drink a lot of water and go exploring!

Like Walt said, "When you are curious, you find lots of things to do."

Stay safe, friends!

Nikki
